Job Description:
  • Our company is seeking concrete laborers, form setters, finishers, and foremen. Construction experience and truck driving license a plus. Know how to read plans, move fast, work safely, and communicate. Requirements
  • 5+ years’ field experience (must provide references)
  • Civil construction background required (paving, grading, site concrete, demolition)

  • OSHA safety certification a plus
  • Prior experience dealing with site inspectors and following construction guidelines

Command Performance Constructors (CPC) provides top-notch concrete, asphalt, grading, and demolition services to customers across California. We are seeking an experienced machine operator who will grow within our company and cooperate with CPC's customers, sales team, dispatch and management. Our operators strive for a zero-accident track record, and we expect that safety be the top priority for all of our workers. This person must possess experience in heavy equipment operation and have good working mechanical knowledge.Training Opportunities may be available.Experience Requirements:
  • Ability to safely load, unload, and inspect equipment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude is a must
  • 5 years minimum construction operating experience preferred
  • Experience on skiploaders, excavators, rollers, skidsteers, and pavers
  • Manual dexterity and the ability to lift & be mobile with 45+ lbs
  • Proficiency on any or all of the following grading & demolition equipment: concrete/asphalt saw, crack fill machine, compressor, vibratory plates, backflow devices, and fuel tanks
  • Must have clean motor vehicle record and maintain a positive driving record; an active unrestricted driver's license is a must
  • CPC performs work on many military bases. The person whom we hire must be able to pass a drug screen and have a clean DMV record
Additional Skills:
  • Sawcutting experience a plus
  • Core drilling experience a plus
  • Jackhammer / compressor / air tools / concrete cutting experience preferred
Position Duties:
  • Operate heavy machinery in execution of heavy civil construction projects
  • Update inspection logs, perform general maintenance as-needed, and keep equipment secure and clean
  • Communicate clearly with Superintendent and Dispatch about your machine operation needs
  • Demonstrate leadership in furthering the Company's zero-accident culture
  • Load, haul, and deliver heavy equipment to jobsites as needed.
  • Class-A driver’s license a plus
  • Arrive on-time and act as a leader in the field
Compensation:
  • $40/hour to start on non-prevailing projects
  • Prevailing wage projects: CPC works on many prevailing wage projects which pay $65+ per hour. Actual pay rate will depend on the wage determination for each project

Job summaryAs an Estimator you will prepare cost estimates alone and as part of a team for heavy civil construction projects.You will be responsible for takeoffs, document control, cost analysis, contractor/vendor vetting, and play a part in the preconstruction of each project with the Project Managers.The Estimator will be responsible for analyzing the project plans and specifications to determine the overall estimated costs of a project and the bid preparation. The responsibilities include creating quantity takeoffs and conceptual estimating that meets the project requirements for materials, labor, equipment, tools, transportation and schedule.You will be accountable for the preparation of project estimates to ensure all factors are properly considered, determine necessary resources for projects based on cost estimates, and support the project team during pre-construction and throughout the construction phase.Your role will also include creating timelines, schedules, phasing plans, change orders, and maintaining this information in our project management system.Responsibilities
  • Must thoroughly understand the scope of the project through the plans and project specifications.
  • Must analyze drawings and other documentation to prepare quantity takeoffs of time, materials, equipment, labor needs and schedule.
  • Work with Heavy Bid or other bidding software to produce complete, accurate bids
  • Provide Preconstruction support (submittals, schedules, and specification checks) to successfully hand won contracts to Project Manager
  • When requested assist with quantity reconciliation and production evaluation
  • Perform complete estimates on selected projects consisting of project site visit, quantity take-off, pricing, and presentation of the estimate for management review
  • Solicit and maintain communications with subcontractors and end customers through bid day
  • Use a variety of software including Heavy Bid, Bid2Win, PlanGrid, Bluebeam, Excel, or other resources to accurately bid and manage projects
Requirements
  • Experience with site concrete, asphalt paving, earthwork, underground utilities, and roadwork preferred
  • Have degree related to Civil Engineering/Construction Management or significant real world experience to successfully estimate construction projects.
  • 8 to 10 years minimum estimating experience at civil construction company
  • Fluent with multiple methods of estimating (unit price, lump sum, etc…)
  • Strong computer background; Experience with MS Word and Excel
  • Be detail-oriented
  • Ability learn new skills and methods
  • Demonstrate ability to take a concept from a customer and create a project vision with a fully-built bid
Work Conditions
  • Command Performance has a fast-paced work environment, and our team thrives on collaboration.Estimators must be able to work independently, as well as with a small team to finalize bids.You will be given a large amount of autonomy but will be expected to produce accurate bids.

  • Minimum of 7 years of construction payroll experience including certified payroll and all associated reporting

  • Knowledge of government reporting required and experience with Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF) a plus

Job Description:
  • Develop and maintain adequate data collection system for tracking costs to support contracts.
  • Review cost information to be reviewed and distributed to management on a weekly basis.
  • Collect and review confidential data to support billings
  • Conduct weekly certified payroll and OCIP submissions as part of accounting team
  • Prepare monthly billings to government with adequate supporting data
  • Regularly update WIP using percentage of completion method
  • Monitor current and accumulated costs for accuracy and to monitor potential overruns
  • Provide cost estimate support and review of cost and pricing data on all bids and proposals
  • Support audits for all bids, rate review, and contract close out
  • Analyze actual overhead rates on a regular basis compared to budget for billing adjustments
  • Prepare indirect claims cost submission data on an annual basis
  • Prepare Disclosure Statement and updates for compliance
  • Conduct internal floor check audits to support external audits. Update internal policies and procedures to be sure we comply to all government requirements; i.e., time card procedure
  • Track all unallowable costs in our accounting system necessary for accurate G&A rates and accurate billing; coordinate cost allocations and obtain back-up for allowable costs.
  • Work with operations, contracts, legal, etc., to support all reporting requirements and compliance regulations
  • Support proposal team for all Government Contracts and provide necessary costing information and worksheets
  • Provide monthly project costing information to Operations for analysis
  • Support cost accounting with month and quarter end reporting
  • Perform analytical reviews, auditing, forecasting, monitor budgets and implement best practices for continuous improvement
  • Perform special projects as required
Skills:
  • Proficient on Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Must be able to effectively communicate problem status to senior management
  • Must be able to translate plans/policies into specific goals, tactics, action plans and deliverables
  • Experience integrating new software into the accounting stack
  • Plan, prepare for, and effectively facilitate ad hoc meetings
